Airecon
Anyone thinking of going to Airecon in Harrogate?
I am thinking of heading up for the day on Saturday 10th for a day of trying new game.
Maybe on the train or car not sure yet.

Polly and I are planning to go. We're combining it with a trip to Harrogate so we'll maybe pop in on Friday and then we'll be there a bit longer on the Saturday.

Kana Gawa, a game about painting that comes on a sushi mat.

What you looking at pal?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Action shot.

Adrenaline: best game with weaponized emojis.

I wish I'd turned D-struct-0R sideways so it looks like he's lobbing that grenade.

Ore-some. Kes picked this one. Don't make the same mistake.

Kes in the process of realizing his bad decision.

Evo is pure gorgeous.

Yeah, I couldn't stop looking at it either.
I was going to do a Photosynthesis before and after, but I forgot to take the second picture, so the last photo I took at the con was this one:

Re: Airecon
Seems like your time there was either awesome or Ore-some (ahem!).
Particularly intrigued by Adrenaline, I've been wanting to try it for ages - how was it? Any good?
Evo looks interesting too...

Re: Airecon
I'm not sure what to make of Adrenaline. It was really interesting and I liked the theme, but it took a bit longer than it felt it should (and we played the short game!). The game really slows down as you can't plan long term so your turn entirely depends on what the board state is at the start of your turn and making the best of it. Working out what each of the weapons do and how best to use them ends up being a bit of a puzzle when you feel like the game really wants you to just go round shooting stuff willy-nilly. Ends up being a fun, chaotic, but thinky area control game with a lot of downtime

Hmm, yes that tallies with what I've read about it online. I'd definitely like to try it at some point if I get the chance though, to see for myself - fun, chaotic and thinky sounds kinda good, lots of downtime less so.
