Necromunda

Post  Kes on Thu 05 Sep 2013, 15:36

I'm thinking of starting a Necromunda Campaign if enough people are interested. Has anyone played it before or have any figures? I have enough to probably provide five gangs and that would be enough for a campaign but if anyone already has some, that would be great.
For anyone that doesn't know, Necromunda is an old Games Workshop tabletop sci-fi gang skirmish game. The main advantage compared to Warhammer is you don't need as many figures and it's not quite as complex.
If anyone is interested, you can get the online rulebook here http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=cat480009a&categoryId=6700007a&section=&aId=21500022a,
This would be separate to normal Tuesday Games club but probably not on a set day.

Part of the Warhammer Historical range...
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/15235/legends-of-the-old-west

I really like it... quick and easy... and you get to wear a cowboy hat... I have enough models for a quick skirmish if you want to try it some time... Not many buildings though I could quickly print some out and lash them together...

But before that we need to get you tutored in the ways of the Imperium... I can't do Tuesday as I'm in York presenting good science to the masses... So we would be looking at Tuesday 1st! Or you could come to mine one evening - we are on the tram/bus route if you dont have a car...

I have enough for a small game - maybe 6 or 7 miniatures each. I have a train & track, 1 old west building, water tower and a gate post... there are tons of print and play buildings though online...

So when we playing?

I'll probably be on public transport.
I'd still like to play with the cowboys but I think you should read up on the Frontier rules because I'd like to play as Indians. Smile

I'm sure my copy will be here soon but you never know, we might have a chance to do both.
Also, if we recruit gangs before Sunday, it might save time. With Necromunda, I do the roster sheet in Excel and then play with my laptop instead of paper. Is that worth doing here?

Sounds like you two are going to have fun with your Cowboys and Indians skirmish game!.... came across this stuff recently whilst doing various geeky searches (I like making cardboard models! Very Happy )... might give you a bit of inspiration for your games?

Cant believe you've brought this up while i'm knee deep in nappies. We used to play necromunda all the time when i was a teenager. Unfortunately i sold my big box of gw stuff for beer money during my lost youth. When i can leave the house again i'll play with you kes. And i know at least three other people who'd jump at the opportunity.

I would make you some buildings... but I'm in the middle of making some of this stuff at the moment:
http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/index.php?view=product&product=28

I'm hoping to (when I eventually finish it)... use it for some horror skirmish miniature gaming... I've got the FEAR AND FAITH rules which seem simple and fun(?) - If anyone is interested in giving that a go sometime in the future - let me know.... http://www.ganeshagames.net/product_info.php?cPath=1_8&products_id=15

....and anyway, now I've become distracted by making paper spaceships for STARWARS X-WING....

I made a bunch of shops and now a large saloon, working on a few more shops/houses tomorrow as well as barrels, cart wheels, rock outcrops, boxes, a well, a windmill, town entrance, hay cart and fences if I get time.

Those paper X-wing miniatures are fantastic Evan... they look quite fiddly though!

To go with my Old West town entrance, Water tower, shop and railway (see my blog: www.natioanlelfservice2011.blogspot.com) I've been making a few more shops and buildings... including a Saloon, Sheriff's office, Hotel, Gun Shop, General store and Livery Stable...

Sounds like we will have quite a town between us... if only I had more time to compete with you Kes...
