I'll be there. Did someone mention about doing a post-christmas all-dayer as well? I'm free this Sunday if anyone's up for some gaming.

I'll be along, shall endeavour to bring along some of the new games I have yet unplayed too - although a few of them might be a bit lengthy for an evening setting...

That reminds me, I meant to say I have a whole bunch of unplayed games that I need to thrash through the rules of. Cuba, Myrmes, Factory Fun, Reef Encounter to name a few. If anyone doesn't mind muddling through some games with me sometime then that'd be great, either at club or outside it. I'm more than happy to do the same for others in the same situation!

hi everyone,

first happy new year to you all

i shall be in around 7.30

aneuring, I finished translating the resistance plot cards but it took me longer that I thought as the rules are not of the clearest French.... I will hopefully finish translating the rules for the expansion at lunch time to finish the job off

father Xmas was unexpectedly nice with me (karl I don t think he received your complain letterssss Very Happy ) I will bring a couple of my new games.... which are surprisingly similar to some of you... but for some with french rules(I will print english version to those of you that do not trust french people)

I got Twilight Struggle for Chrimbo and I need someone who's played it to teach me (I can't stand muddling my way through rule books!) does anyone fancy a game on Sunday?

I'll be there tonight with King of Tokyo and Carcassonne.

I'm coming.

I'll be bringing Robinson Crusoe and Coup.

I also have an as yet unplayed copy of Twilight Struggle. I think I've figured out how to play it, but would welcome a game with anyone on another evening...

(For those that enjoyed Mines of Zavandor or enjoyed the look of it... I can highly recommend as a auction/VP game).

If I didn't know better I would say someone is stalking me on the net... email from Amazon this morning highlighting:

Thanks, Gary, Lizzy and Emma for the game of Robinson Crusoe - I still can't believe we won! I checked up on the rules and FAQs last night to determine to what extent we cheated and I can't find anything to suggest we did. So feel free to bask in our glorious victory!

Thank *you* Bunglebogs for the game! I was surprised how fun it was, I thought it might be a bit intense. Made even better by our glorious victory of course! I'd be happy to play another scenario sometime if you bring it along again.

It's also made me want to play Castaways again as it's very similar. It doesn't look nearly as pretty, but it has a much more involved story. I'll bring it along sometime.

Re: Tuesday 7th January

Post  PaulC on Wed 08 Jan 2014, 20:19

Following further reading I've discovered we did get a few things wrong.
1) Building up the roof and palisade DOES require resources, each level costs the same as the cost to build the shelter.
2) Resolving the threat element of an event card does not automatically cancel out three effects introduced, these remain in place until the next relevant action/phase is played.

So we might not have won after all... I guess we'll have to play it again! :-)

My resounding memory of the game being the following exchange:

[reading from event card] "You wake in the morning to see a balloon has crashed close to the camp..."
(All) - "Oh No!"
[continuing to read] "...and discover two dead bodies inside."
(All) - "Can we eat them?"
