Logo Design and Club Clothing

Post  Kes on Fri 28 Feb 2014, 02:17

Here's my new idea. I'll try and get costings for clothing tomorrow.

Not keen on the hammers... Ok forging etc but...
Would a knife and fork be more apt for Sheffield these days?
I can't think of a gaming replacement...

I don't mind the hammers, but a knife and fork might be more obviously a Sheffield reference.

I'd perhaps change the bronze edging to silver (Steel=Sheffield etc).

Does it need the crossed hammers? (or the crown for that matter) I'd have thought it be OK with just the shield and pennant...

A lot of the references I used had stuff behind and I wanted to bring in game stuff. The hammers are supposed to be about building as it's a common game mechanic and the crown is sometimes a first player token and represents victory. It's super simple to remove them so I'll post that tonight.

Also thinking about a black hoodie... it might need a white edge surround so it works on all top colours...

Yeah, this design will probably work best as a pocket print but I suppose large across the back might work too.

I wondered if the crown was necessary, but I think if you took it away there'd be an odd gap. Same with the hammers, the shield might look oddly floaty without something behind it. It would be interesting to see with and without though!

In fairness a giant meeple standing behind the shield would fill all the missing gaps (if the crown and hammers were removed)... put a gold crown off angle on his head if you want...

An outline might look odd. You could make the hammers/cutlery silver? It would look fine as it is on a grey hoodie.

The giant meeple sounds terrifying!
Lizzy, colouring them is something I thought about, if they aren't solid black, they may be less distracting from the shield, I'll try it out

Yes but might make us look less like a football club... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/e0/West_Ham_United_FC.svg/800px-West_Ham_United_FC.svg.png

I like that... much better...
What about a gold crown over 1 corner of the crest to give some depth...

I still prefer the busier version. I tried the scroll at the bottom and didn't like it so much

It's not as floaty as I feared! I prefer it to the original, it's less aggressively masculine.

I think the banner looks fine in the middle.

I think it looks great - but can see the appeal of a giant meeple. Everyone loves giant meeples, right?

If we go for pocket prints, we could get them embroidered instead which apparently only costs a couple quid. If we want a large print on the back or something else, it might be more.
My brother is gonna check the prices for hoodies but it looks like we can probably sort it.
