Re: iPad games
I play a lot of Chess on my phone with the Chess with Friends app. It's cross platform too so you don't have to worry stuff like that. There is a free version but I recommend buying the ad-less version for 69p. Well worth it.

Also, check out Eclipse on iOS Steve. If you want a game sometime, let me know; I'll even promise not to research missiles!

Re: iPad games
Sorry to necro this thread! As I'm struggling to get along to the club these days (I'm hoping to get down on the Sunday in April) I'm looking into iOS games again. Currently torn between buying Splendor and Le Harve. I've not played either game (physical or digital) but know roughly what they are both about. Does anyone have either of them and what would you recommend?
Also just to reiterate my GameCentre ID is Blinky82 some of you may have received invitations from me If we weren't friends already however GC is notoriously crap so who knows whether you'll get them or not. I'll update my list of iOS games a bit later and hopefully play some of you again soon.

I have them both, Splendor was significantly easier to learn, but Le Harve has more depth.

Re: iPad games
Checking through my friends list, as well yourself, Dave and Jon also have Splendor whilst only you has Le Harve, so I'm leaning towards that at the minute. I imagine Splendor will be better for online play as I can imagine Le Harve games taking a while to get through when the number of players get past 2 or 3.
Strange how Splendor is more expensive than Le Harve though.

I've not played in a while, but I don't think Splendor has MP does it?

Re: iPad games
Just checked and you're correct. No online MP, just pass and play. I guess that makes my decision easier. Are there any other particularly good games that have asynchronous MP?

Re: iPad games
TBH I don't much play boardgames on iOS at the moment (my iPad went to my wife and my phone is a bit small for comfort) however the following have pretty good async implementations:
Smallworld
Carcassonne
Ticket to Ride
Lords of Waterdeep
Star Realms
Agricola
I'm sure there are more, the above is just from memory

Star Realms! And you'll find plenty of opponents in SBGC :-)Ste - Blinky wrote:Just checked and you're correct. No online MP, just pass and play. I guess that makes my decision easier. Are there any other particularly good games that have asynchronous MP?

I've got Carc, TTR (pocket) & LoW already and agree they are pretty good. I've tried Star Realms and wasn't sold on it. Might have to give it another try. Small Worlds looks good too. Will have a think about it.

Re: iPad games
Suzanne (from Board Game Breakfast on The Dice Tower Network) has started to maintain a Google doc of digital games and which platforms they're available on. Quite useful for seeing what titles are out there.

I counted last night, I have 30 board and card games on my iPad... I really don't need any help to find more.
