Tuesday 22nd July

Post  paulyg on Sat 19 Jul 2014, 15:30

We tried Amerigo (newish Stefan Feld game) last night and, despite some engineering issues with the dice tower, it was good fun. It's a medium-heavy Euro with an interesting mesh of exploration / tile-laying / action points / set-collecting. The randomness is provided by the dice tower - the number and colour of cubes that come out each round limits your available choices.

Anyway, whilst the rules are still fresh in my mind, I thought I'd bring it along on Tuesday if anyone fancies trying it. In yesterday's game, the dice tower "ate" quite a lot of the cubes which made for a very frugal game. I'm expecting it to be quite different when I play again with a fixed tower...

Sounds fun, but I won't be around on Tuesday. Another time maybe.

I'm currently sat trying to figure out the rules to Russian Railroads, I'll bring it down if anyone fancies trying it out?

It's a typical, albeit complex, worker placement game. It's elegantly designed and pretty intuitive and I think it'll be great fun. Plays 2-4 people, 90-120 minutes.

I'll be there with Felinia for Rick and Blue Moon City for Mike. I have a copy of Gravwell now, I'll try and bring it along as well.

I'm happy to have another go at Amerigo, with a less carnivorous tower, or have a crack at Russian Railroads. I'll just fit in wherever there's space.

Suspicious ellipsis... what is the end to that sentence? "I can certainly bring it along... but the box is full of scorpions"?

I don't think I'll be able to play this tonight - my missus is coming along and has declared she wants to play some co-op games with me Smile

To that end I'll be bringing along Pandemic, Flash Point and Forbidden Island

I feel up for something workery, Americo or Russian Railways both sound appealing.
