Anything and everything!

I read the rules for Caylus Magna Carta at the weekend, so might bring that if anyone fancies a lightish Euro. And will bring some old favourites too...

(I also finally opened up my copy of A Game Of Thrones 2nd Edition, which I've been meaning to try for ages, but I'm not going to attempt to get through 30 pages of rules before tomorrow!)

A fair few people at the club have already played it and would probably be happy to give you a tutorial

Excellent, I should have thought about that really! Well I will put out a call in a future week and get a game together then. The components certainly seem nice so I hope the game lives up to them.

I'm bringing down my Cold War and Aliens board game for a thorough playtesting if anybody's up for it.

I should be down. Will bring Russian Railroads and/or Le Havre if anyone fancies more heavy Euro action?

Well I'm back on board for the full session. Wouldn't mind rise of Augustus again.
Also, Danny has said if people want to bring their own music, on USB or MP3 player, that's fine and we can put it on.
I've only had issue with the music on the couple occasions it has changed from the normal stuff and when the volume has got out of control but if anyone wants their musical taste judged by the group, feel free to bring something down

I have Libertalia with me if anyone is interested in a game of looting pirate treasure, cursed gold and pet monkeys.

For the sake of you mechanic-specific complainers, it contains exactly none of the following: Auctions, hidden roles, worker placement. Basically you all have a hand of crew cards and play one each round, which then trigger special abilities in ranked order and claim loot in reverse order. Looks like fun. Also I have little metal coins instead of the cardboard ones, a promo freebie for some reason.

I'd be interested in playing Russian Railways, Le Havre, Rise of Augustus or Libertalia, but I probably won't be around until 7:45. If any of you fancy twiddling your thumbs until I arrive, that would be super.

Sounds like there's going to be a brilliant selection of games tonight (none of which I have played before!). I'll jump in to whatever has space...

Libertalia is awesome, one of my favourites. Very jealous of your coins Tom! I have it though, so I can play it with either of the Pauls sometime if you miss out tonight.

Weirdly, the bag of coins only has silver and gold, no copper. I guess I'll just treat silver as 1 and gold as 5, but I haven't counted to see if there's enough silver to do that. The full bag is incredibly satisfying to hold though. It clinks really well.

You should, it's a great game. You only didn't like it cos you lost. I vaguely remember Laura and I screwing you over, that might not have helped...

Having played it last night, I'd say it's one of those games where you can't really figure out what a good strategy is until you've played it... if you see what I mean! The mechanics clicked for me towards the end, but by then I'd already used cards which would have been much better saved until the end. I'd definitely play it again to try out different things and see how some of the characters who we didn't get to would work out / mess things up!
