I asked Jeff to get the lighting sorted in the main room - he said he already had the strip light but that it needed installing... he is meant to be doing that today... so lets see what tomorrow brings...

I now have Dead of Winter, the new Plaid Hat Games game of survival, betrayal and bloody zombies again. Feature list for the picky amongst you: Secret objectives, traitor objectives, voting (rarely), dying of frostbite (often). No auction mechanics or hidden roles though. Also the zombies are the context rather than the focus, which is frankly a relief.

It seems pretty fun, if bloody difficult. Closest comparison is probably Battlestar Galactica, although it's not quite the same approach. Plays up to five players. Anyone interested?

You missed a key point: Co-op or not? Sounds the former...

Well, it's a traitor game so you need to be on a team to betray them Razz
It's sort of co-op. You basically need to work together to survive, and there's a public objective which is shared and any non-traitors will need to complete, but then every player also has an additional secret objective which they personally only win if they complete, so you can have no traitors and still have only some of the players actually win the game. It's designed to make everyone look a bit suspicious, I think.
But yeah, barring the possibility of a traitor (and only possibility, traitor not guaranteed) it's fundamentally a co-op game.

I'll be bringing Archipelago in for Steve so I won't have any of my own games with me tomorrow.

I'm interested in DoW though so you can count me in for that please.
