To be honest my issue is as much with deck-building as a genre as with Netrunner specifically - I've never really been into any other deck-builder either - the likes of Dominion and Magic left me completely bemused.

The only one I've played that I like came after I sold Netrunner, which was Legendary Encounters.

Yeah, board games and CCGs have different design philosophies because of the different business models, so it's not unreasonable to hear people who like one but not the other. I guess board games are supposed to be focused and manageable whereas CCGs are designed to expand until they are barely manageable. In the end Netrunner is the game I've had the most excitement and entertainment with so whatever it's doing it's doing it right for me.

Legendary Encounters I've heard good things about. Core Worlds, also.

What are your favourite games in general?

I picked these up too. I'm very excited to try out Flash Point: Fire Rescue so count me in for that, Dave!

Tough question - like so many things, depends on my mood at the time Smile

Regular favourites include Firefly, Letters from Whitechapel, Avalon, Catan, Battlestar Galactica, but there are so many games out there that I've only played once or twice or even not at all that declaring favourites seems a bit... off to me (strange as it may seem)

Paul - are you likely to make the session between Christmas and New Year? Could have a crack at it then perhaps? For reference I have the base game along with the "Second Story", "Extreme Danger" and "Honor and Duty" expansions and the "Veteran & Rescue Dog" character pack - lots to try out Smile

A-ha! Freed from the tyranny of the NHS Outpatient team, I can now definitely attend tonight! Unsure what I will bring along food wise, but it will certainly be the finest fare Mr. Stains bury can provide on my meagre budget! I will also pack KoT in case we need one!

First, the good news. I'm back from my work trip and so will be attending tonight.

The bad news is I haven't had chance to make my game-related food item. I will however be bringing some other delicious homemade chocolatey treats instead.

Due to an unexpected outbreak of the black death in my house (at least, that's what all the moaning would make you think) i'm not sure I'm going to make it tonight. If the invalids are able to tend to their own welts i'll try and get down at some point. Otherwise Aneurin will have to shake me down for my pound next time. Merry Christmas all.

Yeah was great fun - Thanks all for an enjoyable evening and well done to our winners

1st: Sam (£20)
2nd: Tom (Beardy) (£10)
Food: Kes (£10)

Will get your prizes sorted for next week. Thinking Patriot games vouchers but if there is anything game related (and around the prize fund amount i.e. 10.99 would be ok Wink ) you would like instead PM me and I can order it for you.

2 Rooms was good... interested in knowing some strategies and perhaps the other roles so thanks for the link Jamie...
Steve - Sam found one of your cards and has taken in...

I also picked up a Tupperware box of someone's. If it's yours let me know - had some homemade cakes or something in it with lots of icing - guessing mince pies?!?

So Pitchcar next year?

When I saw the quote of the prize places I though the box you were saying was yours was the one I keep the kitty in... Doh! Will bring your box (one should not handle another mans box for too long) next week.

Excellent night. Pitchcar is a great game for that situation, I think it should just be the Christmas party standard! Well done to Sam and Tom, worthy winners.

2 Rooms was great fun, a slightly different take on the deception genre but less shouty and the group mechanic works really well.

Paula and I had a great night. She says she might attend the occasional regular Tuesday sessions now that she knows you're not all scary weirdos. She may also consider forgiving me for mistaking her for a werewolf.

Aneurin, vouchers will be fine for me. I'm sure I'll be able to make use of them sooner rather than later.

Also, well done to Kes for the awesome pitchcar cake and the breadstick kerplunk.

Ah yes I have this trouble often with my wife too - I got in particular trouble for throwing a two-person mission in Resistance and convincing everyone she did it. I thought she was going to divorce me on the spot Very Happy
