Work's gone somewhat "foom" on me. Not sure when I'll get out but I'll definitely be there late, if at all.

I have lost my bag-carrier/soulmate to the Womens Institute tonight so I'll have to leave a few games at home. I'm still bringing seven of them though.

Final tally: The Hobbit, Gravediggers, Through the Desert, Cthulhu Rising, Age of War, Ingenious, Samurai the Card Game.

I think that went well... Never played a Knizia game before so wasn't sure what to expect but I had lots of fun. Got a sneaky game of Avalon in there too which the good guys won. Woop.

Looking forward to seeing who won the prizes.

Great night! Thanks Jon for organising.

I think I played the most games I've ever played on a Tuesday night. If only I'd won more of them..

What did we get played in the end? Tigris, F1, Ingenious, Master Gallery, Heck Meck and Lost cities? Did I miss anything?

What a great evening.

I've changed my mind about Priests of Ra. It's still a terrible 2 player game, but with 5 players it was great!
Heck Meck, Formula Motor Racing, Ingenious and Abandon Ship were all good fun too.

Yes! You missed the famous Mr Knizia's "It's a bit like Avalon". Absolutely awesome game! Thanks everyone for playing. Smile bounce

I'm glad to hear that as I have still have my copy of Priests of Ra unplayed... Sounds like I would have some people to play it with Smile

What was the verdict then, which was the most popular best Knizia game?

Tough one! I absolute love Lost Cities as a 2-player and I'm sure that Kat and I will be playing it a lot in the future (good game to take on holiday too as it's quite compact) but I think Tigris & Euphrates remains my favourite of his games for the level of tactics and thinkiness involved.

Lost Cities Free online

Post  Mike D on Wed 29 Jul 2015, 12:47

Hi all,

for those who want a quick game of Lost Cities, if you google it you'll see Mr Knizia has generously donated it to happymeeple so you play it either against bots or other online players for free.

Thanks for arranging, had a great night and will now spend the rest of the year scouring shops for the most outlandish bowtie I can find just in case!

Cheers Mike

I really enjoyed the Kniziathon, even though I didn't manage to get round to playing either Tigris & Euphrates or Through the Desert, my favourite Knizias. It's always surprising to see how many totally different games he's done.

I don't think I'm in with a shot for the prizes as I did seem to do quite a lot of losing, including at games that I taught people to play. I'm blaming the bow tie for restricting blood flow to my brain.

I'm still up for more Knizia if anyone fancies some Mesopotamian tile laying or pastel camel wrangling some time.

When I first saw this I thought - don't remember having my photo taken with Rick... that Mr Knizia appears to be using photoshop trickery!

I'll play Tigris next week if you fancy it Tom?
