How was the Tavern last night - any better on the soft drinks/music front?

Drinks - well the soda gun was working so that made me much happier

I left around 2245 and there was no irritating music or singing up to that point (at least nothing I noticed)

My only real complaint was that it was really quite stuffy in there, really could have used a few fans.

Oh and were there meant to be sandwiches? because there wasn't Smile

I've noticed on the facebook page for the Mulberry Tavern that they now do Hot Pork Sandwiches... maybe this is what Fee meant. I'll contact her at the weekend and cheekily ask...

There was a sign at the bar offering them, about £3 I think

Fee wasn't there last night (at least not whilst I was there) which I think explains the lack of sandwiches...

Serious issue guys...

Not to harp on about this issue but as many of us previously thought - people not buying drinks while using pub space is a real issue. It doesn't matter how many people are drinking - 1 person can strain our relationship with the staff. We have only been at the Mulberry Tavern for 2 sessions and I have already received the following from the landlady...

As a group we cannot afford to piss off the owners when we are trying to establish a new relationship. This will be true for ANY venue we happen to be in - especially if we want to access it for free. I don't think its too much to ask for people to buy a drink or 2 while they use the facilities within the pub for what amounts to 4 hours. Heating, light, and toilets facilities cost! If this continues the club WILL have to look at paying for a venue which means weekly subs to support it. We can avoid this if EVERYONE is seen to be supporting the place that is housing us for FREE. The question is simple - would you prefer to pay £2-3 a week to sit somewhere and play, or £2-3 a week to sit somewhere and have a drink and play? It's a no brainer surely guys. If money is really that tight buy one drink and make it last - appearances are everything.

Equally - I'm very uneasy now about asking for free sandwiches for the group. We need to develop and nurture the relationship... again it may only take 1 to piss them off. Don't do it...

La Granja players (me, Alex, James and Su Lin (sorry if I spelled it wrong)): I just found out we played some sort of mean variant of the game because I missed some of the rules about getting victory points. It was an enjoyable game in any case but the difference would, I think, have added an extra element to think about. I'll have to play again soon with the proper rules.
