Re: Tuesday 13th December
We [Kes, Lizzy, TomC, PaulyG and myself] will be starting the Bespin Mini Campaign for Imperial Assault!
Re: Tuesday 13th December
Looking forward to it and to trying my hand at being a 1980s joystick (Quickshot Galactic Gunfighter).Aneurin wrote:We [Kes, Lizzy, TomC, PaulyG and myself] will be starting the Bespin Mini Campaign for Imperial Assault!
If anyone would like me to bring anything from my collection to play then I'm very happy to - just let me know.

My controller of choice in the 80s was the Zipstick on the Atari ST 520FM. It was an upgrade from the tape deck Vic20.
Re: Tuesday 13th December
Best controller ever, Atari 2600 joysticks that came with the system. You young whipper snappers may not remember those beauties!
Re: Tuesday 13th December
Yes, I think you'd enjoy it! I'll bring it on Tuesday in case you get chance but otherwise happy to play it with you in a future week.Jamie wrote:Paul, would love to play Emergence sometime.

Re: Tuesday 13th December
I won't be there as I'll be chortling along to Reeves and Mortimer at the City Hall.
See you on the 20th for TTR: Nordic (it's vaguely Christmassy. Well, snowy), Santalon and 2 Rooms and a Boom?

Thanks Paul!

Are you able to play this Tuesday?
Anyone else want to try Emergence?
Emergence is a 3-6 player team-based deception resource collecting game. Players take turns moving individual "agents" to collect data in order to convert into influence. They can use influence to either score points for their respective teams, or spend them on abilities that will them deduce teammates and ward off enemy players.

Sounds good. How long does it take? We could play after oilfield. Not sure how long it'll take though as I've not played it before?
If not definitely another week

Re: Tuesday 13th December
I won't be able to play on Tuesday (playing Imperial Assault) but very happy to bring it for you to play. The rules are pretty simple so I don't think it'll be a problem that no-one has played before. There's a 10 minute how to play video (and you can download the rules) on the website:Jamie wrote:paulyg wrote:Yes, I think you'd enjoy it! One thing that we found a bit annoying when playing was that you have to keep your action selection secret by sort of covering over it with your hands. I think some screens would help so I'll try to pack some from another game (maybe the Roll For The Galaxy ones).

Thanks Paul. I'll have a read through the rules and check out the video (first impressions, looking at BGG, doesn't seem too complex). Maybe 6 players is a sweet spot though? So...
Emergence:
1. Jamie
2. Stephen W
3. Jacob
4. James
5. Sam
6. Ian
Any other takers for Emergence?
I'll be a little late on Tuesday, arriving at 7:15.
Carl, wouldn't like to start too late mate. Ideally, finish in time for a lies and deception game. Unless Emergence turns out to be a quick game, then maybe time for a second game when your oil game is done; failing that, we could always play it again on another night...

Re: Tuesday 13th December
I'd think that 5 or 6 players probably is the sweet spot, yes. And I'd expect it to take 90 mins or so (though the humans can secure an instant victory more quickly than that).Jamie wrote:Thanks Paul. Sounds like an interesting game, can I jump into the last spot please? I've been away from the club for far too long, my veins run thin of the gaming, I need a fix. You gotta give this to me, you just gotta.
