This addresses my core underlying concern here. Namely, that the process by which we choose what games to add to (or remove from) our club library, is inclusive and reflects as many members tastes as possible (rather than it just being the sole decision of one, or a select few, individuals). That said, I think the idea that club games should ideally be gateway games and/or games with wide appeal; makes a lot of sense (more specialised or niche games, we can get ourselves).
The idea of polling members, in some form, very much appeals to me (to be honest, I was going to suggest something similar, but you beat me to it Karl). People may or may not vote; and that's fine, but just the fact that they could, I think would be a very good thing in terms of making everyone feel more included.
Jamie - I can't claim any credit, the club has [usually] always done it that way and that was established before I joined. We did make a few decisions between us last year to consolidate the library a little and obtain some more suitable games but other than that it's always been a discussion/vote and I'd like to think we keep it that way as we add the odd game here and there.

That was all voted on though wasn't it?
Can I vote to not have any more votes?

this should be considered at the new WGM... rather than game - we just vote on things we don't want to... its a new meta game... I think...

There's a plan to have a system of writing on a sheet of paper in each box when they get used so we can track it. Will be very useful once it's in place.
I've been slow implementing this... a thousand apologies! I'd been trying to think of an elegant solution that doesn't require a pencil (as they will undoubtedly go missing), but I've dismissed every idea as either too expensive or impractical. I've therefore reverted to paper and a lifetime supply of pencils! Will begin deploying in early Feb...
I brought along a number of printed labels and a big box of pencils last night - I didn't have time to stick them in the box lids, so stashed them under the seats with the games. I'll start sticking them in next week.

Bought Absolute Balderdash from our local charity shop this week, I don't think I will play it at home so I'll bring it in and donate it to the club. Its an older game but highly rated by the Dice Tower guys.
