Thanks
Hi all,
I came down to the meeting last night for the first time.
Was slightly intimidating walking into a room of people that all know each other but was instantly welcomed and invited to a table.
I sat and played Champions of Midgard, Ancient Terrible Things, and then finished the evenings playing Millions of Dollars.
Met some great people and everyone made me feel like I was already a regular.
So I just wanted to say thanks to everyone I played with, and see you next week

Hi Laurie! I wasn't there last night but I'm glad you found some games to play and had fun. Look forward to meeting you next time!

Hi Laurie, glad you enjoyed yourself. Sorry most of our conversations involved lying and deception. They won't always... unless the first statement is true. Wait till we play secret Hitler and you meet Jamie...
Just to add to your point about everyone knowing each other - although this might be the appearance (people around tables all talking to one another) it is far from the truth... the membership pool has recently expanded and there are lots of new people I don't really know or haven't had the pleasure of playing against. It's great to know that anyone will talk to anyone over a board - and appear like life long friends - that's why I love the hobby.

Re: Thanks
Welcome to the club - I hope to face you sometime soon
This is definitely right - I've been coming for nearly four years now and on Tuesday I think I *knew* about 1/3 of the people there, *recognised* about 1/3 more from previous sessions and the remaining 1/3 I'm not sure I'd ever seen before. By and large we're a friendly bunch and am always happy to break bread with someone over a game. Especially if it involves lies and bastardry (Amongst others, I'm keen on hidden role/agenda games)...
Anyway, I'm glad you had a good time and shall hope to see you soon!
