Spiel '18 [Essen]
Anyone currently there? Any particular games anyone is looking forward to that are due to be released over the weekend?
Surely there's some interest in My Little Scythe for budding gamers / those that force games on their kids?
I like the look of Everdell and the new Gloomhaven will certainly be making a club appearance, I'm sure.

There is very little I have my eye on at the moment - although how much of that is "real" and how much of that is a psychosomatic "You've already got a big pile of same, eyes on them please" I can't say
Only imminent game definitely on my wishlist right now is Betrayal Legacy. Have my eye on a few coming out in the next year as well though...

Everdell is good, Samuel has it.
The Gloomhaven expansion isn’t out yet, right?

Well obviously the new Roman Pandemic game will end up on my shelf at some point. Not sure what else.

Also, rather excitingly, I might get my first sort of little bit of design credit on an actual little game thing kind of announced sometime over the weekend, hopefully, maybe. My first ever real life game design payment will be a bottle of mead brought back from Essen.

Paid in mead! Love it! The game isn't anything to do with Vikings is it?

Yes I think the main things of interest I've seen coverage of are Pandemic Fall of Rome - the first pandemic game that has actually got me excited! Forbidden Sky (which I already pre-ordered).... And I saw mention of a new Paolo Mori game called Blitzkrieg! Which looks very interesting... "A 20 minute 2 player world war 2 tile placement game"?! There's going to be a kickstarter for it in November from PSC games..

Forgot about Forbidden Sky!

Yes Everdell's great, a nice combination of light worker placement and tableau-building. And so pretty!Kes wrote:Everdell is good, Samuel has it.
Happy to bring it to the Sunday session if you want to try it Karl?

That'd be great, assuming I stick around long enough for that and Spirit Island.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this. First reviews have been very positive (at least, the ones I've read have been!)
