BloodBowl Team Manager
Hi Lads.....last night I had my first game of the new Fantasy Flight cardgame Blood Bowl team Manager
The game was hosted and provided by that gaming guru Gavin, aka Freddy Fat Fingers
...we played at his gaming pit commonly known as the Bunker!
it was a three player game me, Gavin and Tom.

Game description from the publisher:
Blood Bowl: Team Manager - The Card Game is a bone-breaking, breathtaking standalone card game of violence and outright cheating for two to four players. Chaos, Dwarf, Wood Elf, Human, Orc, and Skaven teams compete against each other over the course of a brutal season. Customize your team by drafting Star Players, hiring staff, upgrading facilities, and cheating like mad. Lead your gang of misfits and miscreants to glory over your rivals all to become Spike! Magazine's Manager of the Year!
Once a manager has chosen one of the six teams, he has five weeks to groom them into the best in the league, culminating with the Blood Bowl tournament. He does this by competing at highlights, collecting payouts, upgrading his personnel, and drafting Star Players.
Managers begin the season with a starting team deck full of basic scrub players. These players are none too bright and have limited talents, but a clever manager can play to their strengths by carefully positioning them to excel on the pitch.
Is your team ready to compete against other teams in head-to-head highlights? Highlights are the randomly determined matchups over which players compete. The more highlights a team wins, the more it improves and the more fans it accumulates.
The season culminates with the Blood Bowl tournament. After the Blood Bowl, the season ends. Players then tally up their total fans and the manager with the most fans wins the game.
Opening the Box.
Loads of cards, cheat tokens and everthing you need to play the game! the art work is very nice indeed and for me its one of the best new cardgames I have played....plenty of tough choices and plenty of laughs (in the last match I had a Star player driving a "Death Roller"....he was a proper mayhem merchant and dished out the dirt to the Skaven and Orc teams) he then got 3 whistles and was promptly sent off!!!

The game plays with 2 - 4 players and should be on the list of anybody who wants to sample the world of Blood Bowl.....I've never actually played Bloodbowl the miniatures game but after playing this game who knows I might get a team
its quite strange when I've watched people playing the miniatures game it seemed very quiet and slow....the card game was fast with lots of player interaction....when the other players are in a match there was plenty of advice on the side line from the other players...ie Tw@ him with yer Ogre
for me 9 out of 10 ....it would have been a 10 but because of all the brain aching, match upgrades, team upgrades and various options it can get a bit of a thinker in the end game!
give your self a treat.....buy the game for xmas, grab a few mates by the goolies and welcome them to the world of Bloodbowl the Cardgame
Gavin......thanks for the game, cuppa and the rubdown
Paul
ps the next time we'll make time for a rubdown at the Crystal Suite next door, just right for a few Star Players
pss Who won.....Tom (Skaven ...the cheating gits)

Do you play proper blood bowl?
Re: BloodBowl Team Manager
Unfortunately not. One of several games I really wanted to play but had no one like minded to learn it with. A frustrating life in that respect.

Never to late if you fancy a game. I have it with enough teams to chose from ... Human, orc, wood elf, dwarf, Norse, Skaven, vampires and undead...
Re: BloodBowl Team Manager
Excellent! We'll have to arrange it
