Alien Frontiers..
Hi Everyone,
I'm currently contemplating backing the Alien Frontiers big box kickstarter, as it looks quite good, and has generally received positive reviews. It looks good, but I was wondering if anybody has played it , and has any thoughts ?
Thanks
Scott

It's a 'big box' style thing incorporating the expansions, but also has some upgraded components...Aneurin wrote:I think I've seen it at the club once - but didnt play it myself... what extra goodies to you get? Any KS exclusives?
From the Kickstarter:
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal Alpha: Upgraded the rules and made them all part of a deluxe, master rulebook rather than being separate.
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal Bravo: Upgrade the solar fuel disc tokens to translucent sunlight colored style
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal Charlie: Upgraded ore tokens to marbleized style plastic cubes
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal Delta: Upgraded the Relic Die to the fancy cube d6 version.
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal Echo: Add a Rocket Die version of the Relic Die to the game (in addition to the d6 cube version)
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal Foxtrot: Added a Rocket Die version of the Brethren of the Stars die (in addition to the cube version from Faction Pack #3)
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal Golf: Add more ore tokens (+10 for a total of 30)
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal Hotel: Add more solar fuel tokens (+15 for a total of 45)
(UNLOCKED!) Stretch Goal India: Upgraded the Scoring Rocket Tokens to rocket tokens that are even more awesome (details to come as we get samples from the factory when we enter Production)

Hi, Kes and I played this once. It's a good game, I always like games that use dice in interesting ways. But we did find it had a lot of downtime. You can't really plan what to do until it's your go and then it can take some thinking about.

Re: Alien Frontiers..
i played this at stupid o'clock in the morning at last years Games Expo and struggled with some unclear rule wording but generally thought is was good. I like the randomness of actions available due to the dice rolls (like Castles of Burgandy) and loved the superb components. I expect I would blag a seat if anyone happened to bring it to club.
