Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
I've been utterly rubbish at Unpl-May-ed so far, not making it to a single club meeting. So would anyone fancy coming over to our place next Saturday (23rd May) for a day of unplayed games (bring your own or attack our pile)? Kat wants to point out that she'll veto any games that she doesn't like the look of :-) Also a chance to meet our bunnies!
We'll start at, say, noon?

I could maybe come in the evening with Owen... 8pm ish... but will you be fed up by then?
Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
Yay! And nope won't be fed up by then - we went for Saturday night so we could stay up late and play lots of games

Me too, for the afternoon.
Can't stop too late, have Buxton HM on Sunday 24th. What games are on offer?

Jamie - I'll have a look through the pile and post here tomorrow when I'm back home... But there are quite a few!
Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
I've got: Copycat, Aladdin's dragons, Mississippi Queen, going going gone and Moral Conflict 1939. Not too many!

Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
Actually I just realised that I could look through my games lost here. So currently on /my/ unplayed list are:

Amyitis (plus The Palace expansion)
Bacchus
Battleship Galaxies: The Saturn Offensive
Battlestar Galactica
Cavemen: The Quest for Fire
Caylus Magna Carta (plus The Favors expansion)
La Citta
The Club
Coup (Reformation expansion)
Cthulhu Dice
Cthulhu Fluxx
Cyclades
Dungeon Petz (plus Dark Alleys expansion)
Fruit Bandits
Game Of Thrones
Igels
Machine of Death: The Game of Creative Assassination
Masters Gallery
Merchant of Venus
Montego Bay
Mousequetaires du Roy
Musketeers
Oltre Mare
Oregon
Pandante
The Pillars of the Earth
Priests of Ra
The Resistance (with Hidden Agenda and Hostile Intent expansions)
The Resistance Avalon
Roll Through The Ages: The Bronze Age
Roll Through The Ages: The Iron Age (plus the Mediterranean expansion)
Shadows Over Camelot (with Merlin's Company expansion)
Sylla (plus Caveat Consules expansion)
Through the Ages
Tiny Epic Defenders
Warriors (plus Dragon Hordes expansion)
So that should take us, what, a couple of hours?

Ooh, Moral Conflict sounds fascinating!Lizzy wrote:I've got: Copycat, Aladdin's dragons, Mississippi Queen, going going gone and Moral Conflict 1939. Not too many!

The Resistance Avalon
These look interesting! Cannot believe they're unplayed though?

Been wanting to play Game Of Thrones for ages. Imagine it's a pretty long game though?
Lizzy wrote:... and Moral Conflict 1939
That looks interesting too! Really like anything along those lines (build armies, explore, conquest, strategy). Wouldn't mind trying Diplomacy too, at some point; though, again, that's a long session game.
What does everyone else fancy playing?
Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
Wow. That's quite a list! I think we should play shorter games this time. Get through as many as possible. I'll leave Moral Conflict for a Sunday. It'll probably take me a day just to go through the rules!

Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
Jamie - yes, would you believe I've only ever played vanilla Resistance with no expansions!
I think I'm inclined to try to rattle through some shorter games, yes. But certainly up for trying Moral Conflict, Game of Thrones and Diplomacy (technically on my unplayed list but I didn't bother listing it above) some other time.
I'd quite like to try Tiny Epic Defenders and Dungeon Petz and maybe some of the quick card games (mostly freebies from Kickstarters) but open to play anything on the lists (or anything else anyone wants to bring) really...

Wow - that's some list! I hate to think how long the played list is getting!
Owen and Shemara (his wife) are new to the club - he is helping redesign the forum using his coding expertise. We were meant to be getting together on Saturday evening to see about implementing some of his ideas. Instead I could bring then out to yours that evening for games and coding...
But they might also like to play earlier...

Oh, yes, I remember from Tabletop Day (I think)! Surely games always beat work (or sort of work anyway)? ;-)Aneurin wrote:Wow - that's some list! I hate to think how long the played list is getting!

Excellent! If you're coming over with Aneurin in the evening then he knows where I live, but if you want to come over earlier then just PM me and I'll send you the address.OwenW wrote:Yeah,

I've not played either of those games and would certainly like to! Elfenland feels like it might be a 'forgotten' classic so quite intrigued about that one.
Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
I think this is what you call an embarrassment of riches. I'll come down for this, probably late afternoon. I'll mark my interest against Dungeon Petz, Shadows Over Merlin's Company, Battlestar Galactica, Merchant of Venus, The Pillars of the Earth and Roll Through The Ages. Which games are you most eager to play, Paul?

If you saw shadows of Camelot until the evening shift then I can cross it off my lost too!
Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
What time are coming Aneurin? I wouldn't mind a game of Shadows Over Camelot (yeah, I know, a cooperative game, ick), can't stay late though.
Also, Battle Star Galactica, which i've never played. Definity want to play that one!

Co-op with a traitor though! Would to be there until 8pm earliest. But don't think it takes that long to play does it?
Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
I'd guess around 2 hours play time? Maybe a little longer with beginners. Only played 2 or 3 times myself. If I'm around I'll play, can't see myself staying that late though, have Buxton HM in the morning (god help my little legs).

Yeah, I'm keen to play Dungeon Petz for sure. And, selfishly, I'd like to play some of the quick card games that are probably rubbish so that I can make a determination for sure. Perhaps a longer game in the evening would be good (BSG / Merchant of Venus / Shadows Over Merlin's Company)?
Re: Unplayed board games in Greenhill - Saturday 23rd May
I reckon a little shorter than that - perhaps 90 mins + rules explanation. But I don't know if the expansion alters the playing length...Jamie wrote:I'd guess around 2 hours play time?
