It's good that you care though, enough to voice your opinion.
To be honest, I'm not sure I understand what the problem is. I don't have a problem at all, with how things are now; but that doesn't mean other people don't...
I just feel posting post game analysis on meet threads, is easy and convenient. I'm already engaged with that thread, so when I get home, I find it easy to locate that thread (always at, or near, the top of the meets section) and engage with it. If I had to go hunting down another thread, I don't think I'd bother half the time.
That's another concern I have, how would any significant changes to the forum, impact on ease of use, etc. Or even dissuade people from posting?
It's not a massive issue though, I just want to play games!

Re: Suggestion - Game Highlights section
I wonder if there is a tagging feature in the forum software? Posts in each meet thread could be tagged (if people want) to a specific game. Then have a show all posts tagged 'Avalon' type thing.
Re: Suggestion - Game Highlights section
I think the discussions of the game actually played on the night certainly belongs in the club meetings thread. They are, after all, about the meeting. People like to trash talk, discuss the winning strategy, point out the unbelievable back-stab that occurred in that particular play of that game.
I can see the value of having a separate thread for discussing the merits/strategies of particular games. However, we sort of already have that, in the game reviews section, and few people are interested in using it. It seems to me that there are less of us interested in long discussions on particular games when at any further remove than something that happened in that game of Avalon last night. And as Aneurin says, if I want to read in-depth discussions on particular games, there is always BGG.
So I guess I think it's OK as it is.

Pretty much how I see it.

I think with the game review threads being labelled 'review', implies that someone writes a review of a particular game, and then there's no ongoing discussion about tactics or general chat about that game. If we could make more use of the review threads, for general discussion of a game, and then allow people to post either in the meeting threads (discussing a particular game session) or in the (possibly re-themed) game review thread (discussing that game in general) as they please; how would people feel about that?

For me thats the main thing. I'd hate to see this place over-moderated with too many rules.
If we did have 2 areas to discuss games; I'm thinking 'meeting' threads (arrange games to play, then discuss game sessions at that meet) and 'game' threads (general chat about specific games), I'd like for people to feel free to use whichever they feel is appropriate.
For me, if I was posting in a 'game' thread, I'd probably talk about what dynamics and tactics I've found to work, why I think they work, any pitfalls or errors I tend to make; that kind of stuff; and then provide a link to a particular game instance where that happened (just to illustrate the point). That link, would most likely be in one of the 'meeting' threads.
That kind of usage pattern, would make the most sense to me; but I wouldn't want to impose it on people.
