18xx & other train games
Hello
I used to come to the club a bit but I haven't been for around a year or more. I just keep up with the fun on Twitter now.
I'd like to get involved again though because I am on the lookout for people who want to play some train games though.
I'm interested in playing stuff from the 18xx family and the Winsome stuff.
Is anyboy interested in having a go?

Me too. I actually own a copy of the original 18xx game, 1829, from the 70s, although it's supposedly not the best introduction to the series. I've never played it (or any of the others) yet, but I'd like to have a go sometime.

I think the closest thing I've played is Chicago Express... not sure how close that really is though!

I have Railroad Tycoon... and the Rails over Europe expansion. Its always fun getting those massive boards out...

I'd quite like to give them a spin too...

Excellent. That is a good amount of interest. I'm similarly inexperienced so how about a game of Baltimore & Ohio to get started? It's meant to be a good introduction to some of the broader xx concepts although its not an xx game. I reckon it can be played within the confines of a Tuesday evening, and then if interest is still there a go at a proper xx game on a Sunday all day sesh?
Any takers?

I've got the original incarnation of the game, Wabash Cannonball and its one of my faves currently. Definitely on the less complex side though.

Would anyone like to play Baltimore & Ohio on Tuesday the 18th?
