Imperial Assault anyone?
Anyone fancy joining our Imperial Assault campaign?
We've just started an Imperial Assault campaign and are the starter mission and one side mission in. We started this as a 5 player game, but the fifth player has let us down both weeks and probably won't be able to make it so we have one spot left.
We'll be playing this Wednesday night and next Wednesday. As we're teachers, when the term starts again we'll be moving to a monthly sessions probably on a Sunday.
Any takers?

We chose Gideon and he's not spent any xp or got any items but I know there's a bit of money left over so enough to get something started - we're early enough in that we probably could swap if needs be

Ugh I really want to but realistically I just don't have time, would be stupid, sorry! I've already played it through once as well so that might spoil it a bit.
To anyone else considering it, it's worth it

That's a shame, we're kinda bumbling through it atm, but all really enjoying it. Don't suppose you're free this Wednesday for a single session? Would be nice to actually have someone play the final character

As an aside Patriot games are running the Imperial assault local Summer Skirmish championship on Sunday 13th September. I'm signed up... now I just need to get some skirmish practise in and see how these cards synergise.
You should also hold off on continuing the campaign. Twin shadows is out in a few weeks and that adds missions to the main campaign. As Kes has said we already completed the full campaign so will likely have to run it as a mini series of missions.

Yeah I thought about that, but I've just got Descent and summer holidays allow for more gaming time, once we finish this campaign, we're planning on playing twin shadows as a mini campaign as well as starting a fresh new Descent campaign. On another note, I've preordered everything up to wave 5 already

I won't be joining the skirmish competition at patriot, but I'd happily play a few rounds at the board game club, I have some scenery I've been using for it too which makes it even more epic!

Ahem, shall we not hijack this poor guy's thread with bickering?

I may well be up for that but time commitments prevent that right now, wouldn't mind playing as a rebel actually

Re: Imperial Assault anyone?
I feel sorry for the Imperial player in the first mission if playing with 'experienced' rebel players... the rebels will know what to do and so will be very difficult to contain them. However I have read that if the Rebels win a mission the next mission should be easier for the Imperial player... would be interesting to see if that holds true.
Re: Imperial Assault anyone?
Surely you could stack all your characters in front of the door, then if they open the door you could shut it with increased health blocking some outside, I think its possible to win even with rebel knowledge of the mission

You can just hit the door down and run past them all with 2 move actions... Its hard to wound all 4 heroes... with just storm troopers and probe droids.
I know they changed the rules in Skirmish mode - but I wonder if they will introduce the 'pass' action on deployment card activation if either player has less cards?

If you block the door (have 2 or more people in front) you can't get through the door until they die or move out the way, that'll stop them for a few turns

True but it wont take many actions to get the stormtroopers taken out. Plus I think from the starting location the first rebel could make it to the door with 2 move actions? The other 3 target the goons and clean up... A noble sacrifice for that first rebel.

Thinking about it, I don't think you can quite reach the door before the imperial players action, the imperial player can put the strongest ones on in front of the door, then the stormtroopers in front of them, probably won't get inside till turn 3 at best I reckon, becomes pretty difficult to get the remainder of the desks in just 3 rounds after that
