Journey of 504 games
So this weekend I will be getting the new crazy 2F game - 504. A game made up of 9 modules that you fit together in various orders to make 504 different games. BGG link
Playing it 504 times, at only once a week would take at least 10 year and whilst I want to try them all I think that's a little crazy! So what I plan to do is get through a decent bunch of these games, at least playing every module in every position (27 games). With this in mind, I'm planning on bringing it along whenever I come down as well as playing at home typically on Sundays and Wednesdays.
So I'm looking to gauge what kind of interest there would be in playing a game or two of these every time I come down - I will do the best to master the rules and understand the different modules but early on I will be learning along with everyone else. Let me know if you're up for the challenge - in no way would this mean you'd have to play every week and I won't be coming each week anyway. This does mean that each time we play we will be learning what will be in essence a new game each time with new rules but with the same pieces and pretty much the same board.

Regarding next week and IA - if thats the ongoing campaign that you gave us a kicking on a couple of weeks ago then you should know I can't make next week I'm afraid

No it's the twin shadows campaign in in with Paul, Karl, Lizzy and Kes...
Do you want to carry on that other campaign? You all looked slightly miffed when I showed you how unhappy the emperor was with the destruction of his Death Star

Re: Journey of 504 games

It's hard to enjoy a game where you are just getting the crap kicked out of you - we weren't even vaguely in contention at any point in either of the two missions and (more importantly) I wasn't really seeing ways we could have done much better either...
I'm not saying I want to quit, just that it wasn't any fun

Thread hijacking - but in short the wookie should always try and charge... You get to move to close range - attack and then use your second action to attack also. Always spend a single surge per attack to recover strain (if you can). Biv should then be moving to close range to spend strain to do 2 attacks (1 melee, 1 range on the same target)... Both together should easily remove 2 imp figures. The other 2 characters can clean up a 3rd between them. That's a 6 threat storm trooper group gone. I get 2 threat per turn... So that's 3 turns before I get them back and importantly 3 attacks and 1 activation down!
In fairness you played Jyn perfectly. You just didn't have the support from the big hitters.
You also need I remember to leave doors until the first activation so you can react to whatever is behind them.
The second mission should be a repat - but you ha major ba luck!

(Carrying on the threadjack. Sorry.)
I enjoyed it. I'm not a total masochist but if there's enough theme and/or role-playing elements to the game I can have just as much fun with a crushing defeat as with a spectacular victory. I liked the stories and the characters and the super-streamlined mechanics helped it all flow without getting in the way.

Yeah you played Gideon well also giving your actions to the Wookie.
So when shall we carry on? 1st week in November?
