I wonder who got me... Someone should create a Santa account for some taunting action...

Ho Ho Ho - Merry Christmas Â
. I'm getting all your secret presents ready for delivery on the 15th December! There seemed to be a rush on supplies at my Telford Xmas Depot. I blame this Black Friday thing we hear so much about! I hope you have been good girls and boys and not lied about your identity much this year (I'm looking at you MrQwok). I'll be checking my list twice.
Anyway, I will be able to send people messages; be it private or on this forum using this account (Santa Claus). I seem to be getting a strange error though... my password is 'incorrect'! What could it mean?
And in the spirit of celebration... Happy Thanks Giving - come and give me some advice to dish out.

Ho Ho Ho!
I've checked my list twice and can see that JohnH has been a very good boy this year. so I've instructed my elves to make him a lovely game for 2 to 4 players. It has a religious theme, but that shouldn't put off the heathens amongst you. I love you all, even if the big guy upstairs doesn't! Ho Ho Ho!!
I've been trying to think of a further clue to give you, but didn't want it to be too easy, so here's a fiendishly difficult clue for you...

Arghhh! Doesn't seem to be an anagram or any caesar cipher. What can it mean?
Also, MrQwok just told me, he's always good; not sure I believe him though!

Ho Ho Ho! Silly me! I made a small mistake in my code, the correct code should be:
UCEYQG CMWKEGF CGTZFBM XYITHIJ
What a silly santa I am... HO HO HO!

Re: Secret Santa
Ho ho ho! Time for a clue for someone else now. PaulC - I've heard you have been a good boy. Your present features a plumber, pipes, gold coins and... just kidding! Ho ho ho!
Let's just say that it comes in a cardboard box and features some rather angry punctuation...
Remember, stay good! It's not too late for me to swap it for Plop Trumps: Festive Edition.

I *think* I've figured out your code, Santa - but I won't give the game away...
Also, Angry Punctuation! Yay!

Re: Secret Santa
Interesting that the first 2 strings (UCEYQG CMWKEGF) from both the correct (second) and the incorrect (first) code, are the same. Makes me think each string can be deciphered independently of the other strings in the code. Still working on it...
Re: Secret Santa
Ho ho ho! My code was obviously too easy for you...
Ok let me see if Paul Gillibrand can solve this one...
tej zaum koj yuav xav tau nqis peev pab rau hauv ib tug ntub ce kuv tus phooj ywg
And don't forget to bring me a mince pie on the 15th... and maybe buy me a whiskey! I like those very much. Hick

The answer to that would currently appear to be no...Santa Claus wrote:

I'll keep trying!
Re: Secret Santa
Talking about ciphers - can anyone get the answer to this one? A teacher put it out at school and I've not got the foggiest as to the answer!

Excuse the grammatical mistakes and such like

Re: Secret Santa
Only here could a secret santa thread turn into a cryptography thread.

Full credit to you for working it out Tom. Solving it when you have both the encrypted string and it's corresponding unencrypted source string, I imagine is super easy compared to working it out, just from the encrypted string.
Still haven't solved Santa's encrypted string though, I wonder if there is a solution, of it they've just been hitting the bottle early this year! Mind you, sounds like Paul C may have it...
Re: Secret Santa
Haha, love this thread - now to work out some others!
