Archipelago
Played Archipelago last Tuesday, my first time teaching the game, and that wasn't easy ... the rules are a little on the vague and finicky side. I must have read the rules at least a couple of times before we played (as well as researching for clarity on BGG) and still was unclear about certain aspects of the game.
Still, I feel it's worth persevering with. The theme really appeals to me (colonising the new world), and I'd describe the game as Advanced Settlers of Catan meets Eclipse! (some of the mechanics, explore new hexes, action discs, etc; remind me of Eclipse).
Anyone else played it?

Re: Archipelago
Really keen to play this one. I almost picked it up in a whisky / games shop in Bruges but thought it was a bit heavy to bring all that way. Definitely count me in for a game in the new year.

Yeah, the more I've been looking in to it (researching online and clearing up rule quirks and ambiguities) the more I like it! More than happy to teach the game; and happy people are wanting to play! Beardy Tom and also Sam (the psycho) have also expressed interest in playing. So here's to some awesome gaming in 2016!
Oh, and happy Christmas to yourself and Kat!
