No problem Paulie, it's one of my fave games now, and no doubt will make more than one appearance at the club this year!

Slightly different to 8 player SOI in that you get to control 2 factions each...

I'd like to try 4 player, if it goes over four I'd like to play something else though. Good game with 8 the other week but it was a bit risk-y I thought. I'd really like to try the two-factions mechanics.

I want to try the 2 factions each thing too (again for me), so will be strictly limiting it to 4 this time. I'll add you to the list Joshua!

One more slot left for 4 player Spheres of Influence...

I wouldn't mind a shot at this too, if there's still room and people don't mind a 5 player game (don't know how the full compliment would affect things in terms of play time?)

Since I've missed the Rococo sign up, I'll probably bring Viticulture (again!) - hoping to add another expansion or two into the mix. Otherwise, I'm happy to make up numbers.

Spoke too soon re: Blood Rage. Very exciting and tense when you know the sort of bullshit your opponents can pull on you with their cards. I've moved from 4th place last week to 3rd this week. If these upward trends continue Blood Rage might well be the best game ever created by the end of March. The one things that still feels off to me is how an outrageous number of points can come almost out of nowhere in the last third of the game. Knowing the relevant cards and strategies better will go some way in controlling them, yes, but it remains that the first third of the game seems mostly irrelevant except as a warm-up for the main event.

Fun game of King of Tokyo today, also. I paid way more attention to the cards today then when having played the game previously. What has in the past felt like straightforward pandemonium felt like a carefully balanced and smart game after all. I guess playing so much Star Realms has changed the way I think of card games.

Speaking of which, Arun: you have the Star Realms app? What's your username?

Who won SOI and Rococo? Thoughts on TtR UK?

username is Cheeesus, 3 e's.
yeah the game was a lot of fun today. really enjoyed it. and tbh I feel you could have definately won this game if that one fight went differently/was planned differently. I also feel that the loki strat is really strong but if more than one person attempts it, it would completely flop.I think Paul played his second age well to get some fight and win some upgrades. Also if Evan got the odin upgrade he could have won on quests at the end too.

Tokyo was a lot of fun. I like the evo cards. Still have the most fun in that game when I start off just fighting people then seeing what happens.

I'd like to take a week off of Blood rage next week to give something else a try, Im still pretty new to the hobby and would like to try some new shit, then maybe bring br back for peeps that havn't played and are interested in a couple of weeks.

Rococo was really good and I'd like to play it again. It's got that nice feel of always being able to do something that moves you forward. The game is about optimising your actions so your progress is faster than your opponents' but everyone gets that feeling of progress. There's lots of moving parts in the game but it all seems to be nicely balanced to give players plenty of that lovely agony of choice.

I'm going to say it again,

Rokoko is the best mid-weight euro I've played. With a different theme it'd get so much more buzz.

Have you played Lewis and Clark yet? That's a good mid-weight euro.

I agree with John, Rococo is really good.

Ticket to Ride UK was good as well, but I like Ticket to Ride anyway so no surprise there!  The technologies add another layer of complexity and I think take it out of the 'Gateway' category because they offer you more choices which have to be weighed against completing your routes.  You have to buy the technologies with Wild Locomotive cards and even though there are more locomotives in the deck than a standard game, I found that getting them was a struggle because everybody wants them.
PRO TIP try and complete your long routes first!!!!

I also really enjoyed Scott's game, can't remember the name, Card Heroes or something?  A bit like a fantasy Machi Koro but you end up with loads of resources and are limited by your actions (2 per turn) rather than money so that made it really interesting.

It was Valeria Card Kingdoms, I like the fact that you get income on other players turns, meaning that there is less downtime, and everybody is always involved in the game. The hidden scoring for your duke's bonuses borrowed from Lords Of Waterdeep, means that until the scores are totalled its very difficult to tell who is leading..
